All these questions relate to the adoption of Social Media, otherwise described as Social Media Adoption Models. Before implementing a Social Media Strategy (see Implementation Models), there has to be a framework to execute within. The models described in this category show ways of Social Media ‘adoption’.

Altimeter Group’s Social Organizing Model shows the different strategic frameworks within which Social Media can be defined. The Social Media Maturity Model shows some more emphasis on the phases towards creating a social media organization solution. Also, transitions between the phases are referred to. The Social Engagement Journey has four phases which describe the process of adoption of Social Media by an organization.
